About Heroes for Healthcare

Heroes for Healthcare is a non-profit organization based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that helps military personnel find their career in healthcare after service. Heroes for Healthcare was started by Laura Hanoski, a healthcare industry veteran. The mission of Heroes for Healthcare is to be a resource for our military during their transition to civilian life to achieve gainful employment in healthcare.

  • Assist with writing and coordination of organization's newsletters, annual report, invitations, program promotions, video and marketing materials, and branding
  • Manage website including content creation, page development and editing
  • Assist with creating and executing social media strategy including research, content creation, and monitoring
  • Update media contacts and press kits
  • Write press releases, public service announcements, and feature story pitches
  • Assist with coordination of marketing and public relations activities relating to organization's events
  • Collaborate with vendors to assure timelines and budget met
  • Collaborate with graphic designer contractor on creation of marketing and promotion materials
  • Meet weekly with team to assist with overall communication efforts
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Interest in pursing Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or other related field
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with Office 365 a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
